Common FAQs

We recommend starting between 55-60° if it’s your first time, and working your way down. You can also increase the duration of your sessions as your body acclimates to the cold. For more experienced plungers, get the water below 50°F and stay in for at least 2 minutes.

No! The power required to run our chiller is equivalent to powering your freezer. As an example, if the outside temperature is 75°F and the chiller is set to 45°, this would require 500 watts. The average household is charged $0.35 kWh, which means it would cost you about $3 to run your chiller non-stop for 24 hours. Additionally, our chiller will go into standby mode after the desired temperature is reached and will only turn back on if the plunge temperature increases by 4°F. The power needed to chill water may vary based on climate.

If you plunge 5 times a week and use 30 pounds of ice each time, with an average cost of $3 per 10 pounds of ice, you would make back the cost of your whole chiller and plunge in 10.5 months. If you’re an avid plunger, investing in a chiller is without a doubt the better option in terms of saving money and time. Not to mention, you won’t have to deal with the hassle of filling up your plunge with ice every time.

Yes, our UV-resistant cold plunge is designed to weather the elements. Please exercise caution in climates where temperatures get below freezing. To keep your chiller in the best condition, avoid keeping it outside in freezing temperatures. Easily pack up and store your plunge and chiller indoors if needed during extreme weather.

It will take 7-9 hours at initial fill up to get to the minimum temperature of 35°F. Your starting water temperature and outdoor temperature could cause this timeline to vary. Afterward, the water will remain cold in our insulated plunge for hours. The chiller will go into standby mode after it reaches a desired temperature, and it will turn back on if the temperature increases by 4°F degrees.

We recommend changing the water at least once a month if it is used daily. Our filtration and pump system helps to keep the water clean.

Simply drain out the water, wash out the bottom of the tub with a hose, and refill.
