Safety & contraindications

  • Protect your eyes. Don't stare into the LEDs. Keep your eyes closed or wear the included eye protection during sessions.
  • Consult your physician first if you are pregnant, have any medical condition, or are unsure whether red light therapy is right for you.
  • Do not use if you have active cancer or are undergoing treatment, a light-sensitive skin condition (e.g. recent sunburn, rosacea), or take photosensitizing medications.
  • Implanted devices: if you have a pacemaker, defibrillator, or other implant, consult your doctor before use.
  • Keep dry. Avoid moisture and water; this is an electrical device. Keep out of reach of children.
  • Always use on a flat, hard surface. Do not fold sharply or use a damaged mat or cord.

The science, briefly

How the SunMAT works

The mat delivers red and near-infrared (NIR) light across a full-body surface while you lie down. The two wavelengths are non-ionizing and reach different depths to support your body's natural recovery.

Red · 660nm

Absorbs at the surface — supports skin, collagen, and circulation.

Near-infrared · 850nm

Penetrates deeper into muscle and joints for recovery and reduced soreness.

Consistency is key. Benefits build over time — a steady routine (about 3–5 times a week) delivers the most lasting results.

03
Setup

Set up your mat

  1. Lay the mat flat on a firm, level surface — the floor, a bed, or a couch — light-emitting side up.
  2. Connect the controller to the mat, then connect the power adapter to the controller and plug it into a standard outlet.
  3. Power on and choose your time, brightness, and pulse settings on the controller.
  4. Lie down with the light-emitting side against bare skin and relax.

Getting results

Your session

  • Duration: 10–20 minutes per treatment area; do not exceed 30 minutes in a single session.
  • Frequency: about 3–5 times per week.
  • Best times: morning after waking and again in the evening or at night, for consistent exposure.
  • Skin contact: place the light-emitting side against bare skin for best penetration.
Important

Do not use the mat longer than 30 minutes at a time. Allow about 10 minutes for it to cool down before another treatment.

Common questions

FAQ

How often should I use it, and for how long?

About 3–5 times per week; a typical session is 10–20 minutes per treatment area. Do not exceed 30 minutes in one session.

What's the difference between MAT16 and MAT18?

Size and power: MAT16 is 2 × 5.3 ft (up to 110W) for targeted use; MAT18 is 2.6 × 6 ft (up to 170W) for full-body coverage.

What if the mat won't turn on?

Check that the controller and power adapter are securely connected and the outlet works. If the power is fine but it still won't turn on, contact contact@sweattent.com.

Is it safe to use?

The mat emits low-level light therapy that is non-invasive and generally considered safe when used as directed. Review the contraindications above and consult your physician if unsure.
